
This morning i receive a short text message from my mom telling me to stop consume spirulina tablet. Last month, my sister bought spirulina tablet by mistake in a big tub, so she decided that we share it.
But what makes my mom throw out her stock of spirulina when she knows and experience the benefit of spirulina herself? According to my mom, my close aunt mention about my mother's fairer skin when they met last month. Mom not only consume spirulina as food supplement. She even us it as her face mask at home. What makes my mom change her mind about spirulina is actually a short conversation she had with her sister (my other aunt) last night over a visit to my grandmother's house. My aunt shared how several close friend of her, find fatal after taking spirulina religiously for few years.
Spirulina has been said to be a good weight loss aids. It is low fat and low calorie food that easily digestive, help to curb food cravings. Study also shown that spirulina is an agent to fight cancer, boost immune system and alleviating the symptoms of anemia. 1. Thirst and constipation
These are the most common spirulina tablets side effects. You should increase your water intake. Drink at least half litre of water when taking spirulina for the body to absorb the spirulina herb well.
2. Mild fever
The body needs to burn extra protein found in spirulina. Thus, promote body metabolism which may convert fat into heat energy.
3. Dizziness, stomach ache, itchy skin or slight rash when taking spirulina.
People may experience spirulina side effects as a result of its detoxifying effect on the body. When you first start taking spirulina, your body may produce these side effects while adjusting to the increase in nutrients. The side effects you experience should subside within a few days or weeks after your body has had time to adjust.
4. Allergic
Anyone who is allergic to seafood or seaweed are not suitable to take spirulina. 5. Kidney problems
People with kidney related issues like kidney stones or gout are risking themselves with kidney damage if taking spirulina, especially in high doses. Spirulina has a high concentration of nucleic acid, which can give you increased levels of uric acid. Too much uric acid can can consequently cause kidney problems.
6. Liver issues
Due to the high content of vitamins and minerals, taking spirulina in high doses may lead to impaired liver function. Overdosing on vitamin and other minerals may cause toxicity to our body.
